With great joy, bells are ringing again at Saint Christopher Catholic Community in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Saint Christopher Pastor Father David Harris and Jim Rafferty stand in front of the Bell Tower ringing with pride.
Father David Harris, Pastor of St. Christopher Church on Manchester Street in Nashua,
wanted to get his bell tower operational for some time. He believed it would enhance the
services at the church, invite more members of the community in, and bring joy to the
church neighborhood.
One of his parishioners was a church bell lover from his days as an altar boy 60 years
earlier. He asked Father David if he could help get the bells going again. He had
researched a company from Vermont, Church Specialties, that fixes church bells around
New England. They worked on a meeting to present a Bells Fix proposal to Father David.
Father David said of the project βIt is a great joy to hear the sacred sounds echoing from
our bell tower once again. Church bells remind us of God and His loving presence in the
world. The bells will accompany many of our liturgies and solemn occasions and we are
especially looking forward to using them at Christmas. I am deeply grateful to
Community Investments Global and our parishioners for their generosity in bringing this
exciting project to life.β
Jim Rafferty, a St. Christopher member, along with his wife Sarah, son Thomas, and
their company, Community Investments, provided the seed money for the project. They
look forward to helping other churches in Nashua get their bells ringing again.
